Defiant Materials was born from a dream.
Our Story
Defiance may seem an extreme position for a materials science company to announce, but disruptive invention is rarely accomplished without breaking some norms. After working in the aerospace industry for 8 years, I am ready to get back to materials research focusing on important problems similar to those that I investigated during my time in graduate school at UCLA. With sharp focus on products, processes, theory, and materials synthesis, Defiant Materials is my first entrepreneurial endeavor.
As a self-funded startup, I intend to leverage professional contacts that I have fostered to find solutions to complex problems. When the time and environment is right, I will develop a company culture of inclusivity and collaboration. Often accused of being a natural leader, it was only a matter of time or circumstance until I incorporated. Clear, articulate communication and an ability to explain complex problems in understandable terms is a strong suit of mine. While in its infancy, Defiant Materials has been in the works ever since I dreamt of synthesizing several game-changing materials that will help grow us into a formidable force in the materials science landscape.
